Design
While following the design of the kit originally released in 1987, the proportions have been reconsidered, taking into consideration the flow from the legs to the torso that is unique to the hermit crab shape. Additionally, the settings of the Sea Panther have been re-examined, and a new interpretation of its original weaponry, the omnidirectional ultrasonic sonar, has been newly depicted.
Motion
This is the first Sea Panther kit to be equipped with a motor. It walks more realistically as if it were alive, and in tandem with this, the entire body moves from the legs to the torso, recreating the unique hermit crab-like actions. Furthermore, if you flip the switch backwards, it will go backwards. The legs move in unison. The fan in the torso rotates in tandem. The high-powered beam cannon moves up and down.
Articulation
The cockpit hatch, back cover, and various weapon parts are movable. By incorporating numerous moving parts, it creates a mechanical spectacle.
- Cockpit hatch opens and closes. The included 1/72 scale general soldier pilot figure can be piloted.
- The back cover opens and closes, and it is equipped with a 12-barrel small missile launcher.
- The triple torpedo pod cover can be opened and closed.
- The high-output beam cannon extends and retracts.
New parts
The original weapon, omnidirectional ultrasonic sonar, is a new addition to the ADVANCED Zi series. It is included as a new weapon part for the Sea Panther. The sonar rotates in conjunction with the power. Additionally, a new high-precision sensor antenna that can be attached to the head is also included. It is included as a new weapon part for the Sea Panther.
